Isabella Potter

I feel honoured to be a part of the journey of others self-acceptance, awareness, and growth. As a clinician, my hope is to be nonjudgemental and assume the best of others. Along with this person-centred approach, I also incorporate mindfulness, self-compassion, family systems therapies, and techniques from Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Therapy (AEDP).

I am a registered clinical counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (RCC #19339). In addition to completing my Masters of Counselling Psychology at Trinity Western University, I also have a certificate in trauma-informed practice (level 1 + 2) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy (level 1). I am currently acquiring training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) which emphasizes research in attachment theory.

I hope to validate and encourage those I work with through compassion, affirmation, and gently challenging long-held assumptions about the self and the world. I believe that people already have what they need to heal within them and that growth happens through relationships. When my clients learn to label emotions or connect what they are feeling in their body with the present moment – this excites me! I hope that all my clients leave my office feeling more connected to themselves and others.
