Amy Chiasson

It is my belief that as humans we are biologically wired to heal; each of us already holds the internal resources needed to grow and thrive. As a therapist, I am honoured to walk alongside you as a guide in uncovering these resources, offering warmth and a grounding presence alongside evidence-based interventions to assist you along the journey.

I work from an integrated approach, utilizing attachment-based, emotion-focused, and body-based practices alongside internal parts work in my practice. I believe it is important to create space for the body, mind, and spirit to be present in our work together.

I have experience in supporting individuals with a wide range of challenges, including grief and loss, anxiety, depression, anger, disordered eating and body image, life transitions, and traumatic experiences.

I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, alongside additional training in the following areas:

  • Internal Family Systems Therapy (Level 1) – IFS Institute, Fran Booth.
  • Treating Eating Disorders with Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) – AEDP Institute, Martina Verba
  • AEDP Through the Lens of Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) – Dr. Richard Harrison
  • Internal Family Systems Online Circle: Foundations of the IFS Model – IFS Institute
  • Emotion Focused Family Therapy Core Clinician Training – Dr. Adele LaFrance, Mental Health Foundations.
  • Treating Complex Trauma with Internal Family Systems – Dr. Frank Anderson
  • Disordered Eating: Somatic, Self-Compassion, and Mindfulness Interventions – Dr. Ann Saffi Biasetti.

It would be my pleasure to connect with you and see if we are a good fit. I offer a complimentary 20-minute consultation.
